Media Moguls Unite
Corpus Christi, TX On October 28th, 2004 the world of media will collide. Well, maybe just those in Corpus Christi, at least. The occasion is the American Advertising Federation-Corpus Christi Chapters popular Media Auction.
Honorary Co-Chairs for this years auction are: Rick Geiter, Padre Staples Mall and Vicki Triplett, Time Warner Cable.
The event is a live auction featuring some very valuable media packages which were generously donated by the leaders in our media market. Print, television, radio, and billboard
it will all be on the block for bidders. Pennies on the dollar, the auction has a history of providing a fun opportunity to get great advertising packages at an incredible discount.
The total value that will be auctioned off is estimated to be over $50,000 in media/advertising dollars. There will also be a silent auction which boasts over fifteen themed baskets that have been creatively put together to tempt even Mr./Mrs. Tightwad to become a competitive bidder.
The Media Auction will be held on October 28th, 2004 at the Solomon P. Ortiz Center. Heavy hors d oeuvres, cash bar and the entertainment of a live auction, this event is a favorite for all. It is a must for the business owner and marketing executives wanting to get some advertising packages at a super discount. But theres more to this evening than fun.
The focus and the reason for this event are simple. With the help of the advertising and marketing partners in Corpus Christi, our chapter of the American Advertising Federation hopes to raise funds for scholarships to be awarded to marketing students attending our local colleges and universities. The intent is to help our local students finish their studies in marketing and hopefully this gift will encourage them to stay in our market, becoming a key ingredient in the success of all.
The American Federation of Advertising-Corpus Christi is comprised of local media, marketing and advertising professionals in the Corpus Christi area. It meets monthly for networking reasons and for the purpose of furthering the education of its members. The association has a history of informing its members of legislative issues that may affect the business of advertising and also, the club is known for its support of the education of our local marketing students.
